Walk About the Woods & Wetlands of Menomonee Park Saturday, December 4, 10:00 am

Enjoy a relaxing walk about Menomonee Park in early December. This Waukesha County park has a historical background from the stone-quarrying period of 1880-1900. Historical remnants include an old stone crusher and the railroad spur from the quarry to the Bugline. The Park totals 464 acres of rolling field, high-quality maple woods, cattail marsh, wetlands, and a 16-acre quarry lake. The rolling hills not only delight hikers but also welcome cross-country skiers and those on snowshoes during winter months when there is snow on the trails. New this year is Waukesha County’s fourth off-leash dog park area.

Directions: Menomonee Park is at W220 N7884 Town Line Road, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. At the round-about intersection of Good Hope Rd and Town Line Rd, go north on Townline Rd. for maybe a mile. The park entrance will be on your right (east side of Town Line Rd). You'll need a Waukesha Co. park sticker on your vehicle to enter the park. A daily park sticker costs $6. No sticker, no problem; you may also park elsewhere.
