Change of Venue-Ski Sunday at Lapham

  • Sunday, January 16, 2022
  • 1:00 PM
  • Lapham Peak Unit, Kettle Moraine State Forest; W329 N846 Cty C, Delafield, WI

With snow conditions less than ideal, the Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee’s January 16 ski outing at 1 p.m. has been changed from the Nordic Trails to Lapham Peak State Forest, which has homemade snow. We will meet at Evergreen Lodge (mask required indoors) at 1 p.m. and ski on the loops of snow starting at the trailhead off the parking lot.

Note: Weekends can get very busy at Lapham Peak, and traffic into the park can get backed up. So it’s best to have your state park sticker and trail pass ahead of time; then stay in the right lane as you enter. Please contact Paula Brookmire if you’re coming so she’ll know to look for you: or 414-491-4636.

Event Location: Kettle Moraine State Forest-Lapham Peak Unit, W329N846 County C, Delafield, WI 53018. Time: 1 p.m. Jan. 16
: On highway I-94 between Madison and Milwaukee, take the Delafield exit and drive south on County Road C for 0.9 miles to the park entrance, on the east side of the road.
Entrance fee: Purchase admission stickers online, by calling 1-888-305-0398, or at Lapham Peak. Resident annual vehicle, $28; senior (65+), $13; daily $8. Statewide trail pass, $25.

The Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee (NSCM) continues to practice social distancing and the use of face masks, as recommended by the CDC and Wisconsin authorities.  Know that your participation in any event is at your own risk.  Before attending any NSCM outing or event, please check with the event leader.  Use good judgement and continue to keep us all safe.
