Plan to join us for the annual Labor Day camping trip at Potawatomi State Park and get to know the southern part of Door County. This beautiful 1,200 acre park near Sturgeon Bay (off Highway 42) has so much to offer with 2.5 miles of shoreline, 9 miles of hiking trails, kayak/canoe/paddleboard rental, and 8 miles of off-road biking. The park roads and country roads outside of the park are good for road biking. The Eastern Terminus of the Ice Age Trail is located here. Sturgeon Bay is home to Crossroads at Big Creek nature preserve, the Door County Maritime Museum, and the Ship Canal nature preserve and lighthouse. Cave Point County Park and Whitefish Dunes State Park are about 20 miles away. Vehicles must have an annual WI state park sticker or daily pass. 

We’ll be in site A of the group campsites, with the Hemlock Trail adjacent for easy hiking. Parking, water, and vault toilets are at the site; it’s a short drive to shower facilities. Enjoy nightly campfires and the traditional Saturday night potluck at 6:00 pm. Trip cost is only $15 per person (non-members $16.50). Include your email address for the trip letter in late August along with name and phone number of an emergency contact not on the trip.

Plan ahead to join us for end of summer fun and be ready to explore some new places. Bike routes will be available; Paul Keber will lead a ride on one of the days. This is the best lodging deal in Door County for three nights (or just one or two)!
